Coronavirus: Brighton & Hove Albion offers 1,000 tickets

Brighton & Hove Albion

The Brighton Hove Albion club has announced that it will donate 1,000 match tickets to the front line coronavirus healthcare workers and invites other British clubs to follow suit.

The Brighton club, ranked 15th in the Premier League, is mobilising against the coronavirus, launching a campaign among all British clubs to offer 100,000 match tickets to British National Health Service (NHS) staff, who are on the front line in the fight against the pandemic.

Brighton chief executive Paul Barber opened the operation on Wednesday, saying his club would be offering at least 1,000 tickets to forthcoming matches to NHS staff, to express “our gratitude to the heroic doctors, nurses and the entire medical profession”. Bournemouth (18th in the Premier League) has already responded to the call, also pledging to donate at least 1,000 tickets.
